USS Arizona Memorial   We spent 6 days in Hawaii where we visited 5 islands. First stop is Honolulu which has the city feel but with a Hawaiian attitude. We visited pearl harbor and it’s just so hard to imagine an attack by another country. We do a city tour and get a feeling for the neighborhoods and of course many interesting facts. Oceania Insignia in San Diego Harbor There have been many strategies to deal with the COVID 19 pandemic and we have chosen to get into a bubble of 370 vaccinated people and 400 vaccinated crew and sail around Oceania in the Pacific Ocean on the Insignia. It’s a R class ship with a length of 592′, draft of 19.52,′ beam of 84′, crew of 400 and full capacity of 698 passengers. It’s a bit scary given all that is going on but for the first ten or so days of our 72 days it's adjusting and feeling comfortable. Our ship mates are very compliant with the total masking rules, the social distancing and hand washing requirements as is the crew. Oceania Chefs Cooking Demonstration We leave from the port of Long Beach and have an immediate change in itinerary and go to San Diego for 2 days before sailing 5 days to Hawaii. We get to do a city and harbor tour of San Diego as we have never seen it before this way. We are off and it’s a good amount of time to settle in and establish a ship board rou...
